The United States Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) has decided to go on strike if it is not possible to negotiate a salary increase with producers from major studios and streaming services by the end of June. In this respect informs GIS.
Almost 100% of the Guild members who decided to raise their voices voted for the strike – 97.91% of the 65,000 people who voted. In total, the union has 160,000 actors, broadcast journalists, announcers, presenters and stuntmen. Negotiations with the US Motion Picture and Television Producers Association will begin on June 7.
Actors will go on strike if the producers do not agree to pay raises, overtime compensation and restrictions on the use of artificial intelligence in the creation of film content.
