Director Martin Scorsese met with Pope Francis. It has been reported Fox News.
Scorsese and his wife, Helen Morris, met with the Pope at a conference organized by the Catholic publication Civilta Cattolica and Georgetown University. At the meeting, the director and his wife shook hands with the Pope.
Previously Scorsese announced that a movie about Jesus Christ would be made. He stated that he was responding to the Pope’s call to artists to “show us Jesus.” Details of the painting are unknown.
Scorsese in May declarationwho doesn’t make big plans for cinema because of his age. The 80-year-old director believes he has little time left to bring his own projects to life.
Scorsese has already worked on movies with a religious theme. In 1988, the director’s painting “The Last Temptation of Jesus” was released. The film is based on Nikos Kazantzakis’ novel The Last Temptation. Cast: Willem Dafoe, Harvey Keitel, Barbara Hershey.
