The Second All-Russian competition of youth jazz groups took place in Moscow. This was reported to socialbites.ca by the press service of the Moscow Jazz Festival.
The winners of the competition were 100 teams from 21 regions of Russia. They will be invited to the venues of the Moscow Jazz Festival, the largest jazz festival in Russia. The event will be held in Moscow from June 19-25. Bands from all over Russia will perform on stages set up in Zaryadye and Muzeon parks, as well as in the square near the Central Department Store and at VDNKh. Participation in the concerts will be free.
The Igor Butman Foundation will pay artists the costs associated with paying fees, tickets, accommodation, meals and internal transfers.
Moscow Jazz Festival Artistic Director Igor Butman said that in 2023, the competition received more than 1,600 applications from 30 regions of Russia. “The high level of all the contenders allowed us to see how successfully the youth scene has developed in our country and what an excellent generation of musicians will create the history of Russian jazz in the future,” said Butman.
