The lead singer of the Russian rock band Roman Bilyk (aka Roman Zver) found himself at the center of the conflict in Samara. On May 23, the team was going to give a concert at the Ice Palace and nearly got into a fight at one of the local bars the night before.
According to eyewitnesses to Samara media, Roman Zver moved to 8 Bit business after drinking in one of the bars on Molodogvardeyskaya Street in the center of Samara. There he grappled with one of the visitors, threw chairs and offered to “go out into the street once in a while and fix the problem”.
Shot writes that the musician seeds the bar guest and engages in provocative behavior. The opponent at first tried to answer him with words, but later the conflict turned into almost a fight. As a result, several people kicked Roma out of the institution, and then someone called the rapid response team.
The conflict was also caught in the video of one of the visitors. It shows how the lead singer of a rock band in a white T-shirt shouts as he tries to grab a chair and throw himself at a man.
socialbites.ca contacted Maxim Gnu, the PR manager of the Zveri group, who said that Roman acted aggressively because of the obsessive attention of bar visitors.
“He and some of his crew were resting in one of the bars in Samara after swimming in boats along the Volga. The company of the guests of the institution persistently turned to Roman for joint photos and demanded further attention to them. This was politely denied to them several times. In response, the company continued to aggressively demand attention and disrespect Roman, which caused Roman to react to this video. Some time after the events in the video, the guys from our team already got into a taxi and left the organization in order to prevent any further continuation of the conflict as much as possible, ”the statement said.
He added that the incident would not affect the band’s upcoming concert in any way, and invited all Samara residents to the performance, except for the “rude night visitors from the bar”.
According to Denis Drozdov, manager of the 8 Bit bar, the damage to the establishment was insignificant and they are sympathetic to the musician’s move as it fits a true punk behavior pattern.
“Yes, there was a fight involving Roman. With whom, people rest. He left immediately so that no one would get hurt. They broke glasses, Roman threw chairs, but our chairs are solid. Yes, we called SBI. But we’re not offended by Roman, he’s just a normal rock and roll player. Roman behaved like a real bum, as he probably should have,” Drozdov explained to socialbites.ca.
On the afternoon of May 23, a message appeared on the pages of the bar on social networks, which turned out to be hot with a quote from the song of the Beasts group from the previous night – “Stronger drinks, shorter words.”
Roman Bilyk already had problems with alcohol and illegal drugs in the past. As he himself admitted in an interview, his wife Marina repeatedly saved him from alcoholism. It also helped him fight “star fever.” In 2022, Russian tabloids wrote that the drunken antics of the musician made his wife even consider a divorce.
