Netflix is leaving Ginny & Georgia, one of the most popular shows of 2023 to date, for two more seasons.
The broadcaster directed two more seasons of the mother-daughter series starring Brianna Howey and Antonia Gentry. The series also has a new showrunner in Sarah Glinsky. Hired before the Writers Guild of America went on strike, the actor will take over from Debra J. Fisher, who directed the first two seasons.
The second season of the series, which aired on January 5, ended with excitement. the fisherman said Hollywood Reporter Judging by the ending, “season three is going to be a big roller coaster.” He also noted that he and series creator Sarah Lampert represented the project for at least four seasons.
The second season of Jeannie and Georgia was a big deal for Netflix, which topped the local English broadcaster rankings for three weeks. With nearly 500 million hours watched worldwide in its first 28 days, it is currently one of the most-watched Netflix shows of 2023, ranking first among the top 10 English-language broadcast shows during that time. (“Inventing Anna” currently ranks 10th, with 511.92 million hours watched in 28 days worldwide.)
In the US Nielsen broadcast rankings, Jeannie and Georgia was watched approximately 10.5 billion minutes during its eight weeks, where it was among the top ten original broadcast programs.
