Lev Dutkovsky, Soviet and Ukrainian composer and founder of the popular 1970s ensemble Smerichka, has died at the age of 80. Ukrainian journalist Mikhail Masliy wrote this on his Facebook (the owner of Meta is considered an extremist in Russia and has been banned).

“Lev Dutkovsky, one of the founders of the Ukrainian pop song, died in a cardiology center on May 16 after suffering a heart attack and coronavirus,” Masliy said.

The composer died in the Ukrainian city of Chernivtsi. Dutkovsky throughout his creative life made a significant contribution to the development of the creativity of many Ukrainian artists. The composer became famous in the USSR after the creation of the popular Smerichka ensemble, which first performed the song “Chervona Ruta” by Vladimir Ivasyuk. In 1971 it was named song of the year in the USSR.

Previously actor and playwright Yevgeny Kozlovsky died in a fire in Moscow. According to media reports, the 76-year-old artist recently suffered from serious health problems and recently the air conditioner in his apartment caught fire. Kozlovsky was alone at home and inhaled carbon monoxide, four days after the event the playwright died.
