Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane has retired after 24 years on the series. How writer Deadline took this step because of the Writers Guild of America strike.

The 49-year-old actor, writer, and producer left with the rest of the showrunner’s crew. According to sources, he will not return to his job on the project until the scriptwriters’ requirements are met.

Insiders noted that unfilmed scripts would suffice for about three months.

On May 2, American screenwriters went on strike for failing to negotiate with movie studios to improve the terms of their employment contracts. They demand to consider revisions that are becoming more frequent due to the increasing demand for scripts for streaming services.
