American film editor John Refua has died at the age of 59. It has been reported Hollywood Reporter.
Refua died of complications from a bile duct cancer called cholangiocarcinoma, which he was diagnosed with in early 2022. The editor’s wife said he continued to work until the last days of his life and continued to move forward “with courage and stamina.”
John Refua has worked on the films Avatar and Avatar: The Way of the Water. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Film Editing in 2010 for their collaboration with editor, director James Cameron and Steven E. Rivkin on Avatar.
Refua has also edited projects such as Law & Order, Ghosts of the Abyss: Titanic, The Great Equalizer, The Magnificent Seven and Transformers: The Last Knight. Refua has also managed to do some work on Avatar 3.
Former director, actor and playwright Yevgeny Kozlovsky dead in Moscow after the fire in his apartment. The 76-year-old artist, who has been experiencing serious health problems recently, caught fire from the air conditioner in his apartment recently. Kozlovsky was alone at home and inhaled carbon monoxide, four days after the event the playwright died.
