Actor Pierre Burel talked about the differences between French and Russian acting schools in an interview with socialbites.ca.

Burel explained that the most important thing for an actor in France is appearance and “hanging tongue”, while in Russia artists are trained “as soldiers”. The star admitted that she found her acting “through pain”.

“I found him in agony. In France, the most important thing is to have a beautiful face and a floppy tongue, that’s enough for a job. The first two years in Russia you can not speak, you are trained – like a soldier. Here talent means hard work and dedication, while there it means being someone’s son. Now I think I’m not jealous of them. It’s hard to live and work realizing that all your achievements are someone’s legacy,” he said.

Burel stated that acting is not perceived as a “real” profession in France.

The artist shared, “Acting is not a profession in France, you will most likely not even be approved for a bank loan.”

Burel noted that he had financial difficulties after returning to France. His career took off when he moved to Russia.

“I remember how much I suffered after returning to France: I was gathered in a small flat of 15 square meters in Montmartre. I thought about how to raise money to visit my m and her son in Madagascar. I was waiting for my best hour, I acted in any movie, because of my grammar they often got the Russian role, but I was not offered the French role. That’s why I moved to Russia, where my career began. I bought a car, an apartment, a summer house, I fly to Madagascar twice a year – I could not afford it in France, ”Burel said.
