According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor and wrestler Dwayne Johnson has openly admitted that he struggles with depression.

The Fast & Furious star revealed that she hasn’t had a single bout of depression in years, starting when she was in college. Johnson felt the first signs of depression while studying at the University of Miami. The future wrestling star suffered a shoulder injury, so he couldn’t play on the football team.

“At that time, I still didn’t know anything about mental health, depression, and how it might manifest. Then I just left school, left my sports team. I didn’t even take the midterm exams. I just wanted to disappear,” Johnson said.

The actor experienced his second episode of strong depression in the late 2000s when he divorced his first wife.

“At that time I understood more about myself, about my mental health, and was smart enough to honestly tell my relatives and friends about my situation, which supported me a lot,” the actress said.

Johnson also noted that his real salvation now is that he has three daughters, whom he raises with his second wife, Lauren Hashian.
