Michael J Fox, star of the Back to the Future trilogy, says Leonardo DiCaprio’s character inspired him to end his career.

According to the actor’s claim, while watching Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, he realized that it was time to say goodbye to his beloved profession. The episode with the DiCaprio hero prompted him to do just that.

“There is a scene in the movie where the character Leo can’t remember his lines. She returns to the dressing room and yells at herself in the mirror, angry at herself. This scene reminded me of my own experience where I couldn’t remember my own lines and felt like I was disappointing everyone. Seeing myself in the hero DiCaprio, I finally realized that I had to end my career and move on,” Fox admitted.

In 1991, thirty-year-old Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. The actress spoke publicly about her diagnosis only seven years later – in 1998.
