Production of the second season of The Last of Us was interrupted due to a writers’ strike. It has been reported Variation.

It has been announced that the season is in the scenario development phase. The actors of the project, together with the creators, watched some scenes from the video game, on which the plot of the new episodes will be based.

Series co-creator and showrunner Craig Mazin was spotted striking out with his Writers Guild of America (WGA) co-stars. Currently not in the process of working on the season in accordance with WGA strike guidelines. Neil Druckmann, the show’s co-creator and games writer and creative director, is not currently working on new episodes of the series.

The series has been renewed for a second season after airing only two episodes, with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay reprising their roles as Joel and Ellie.

On May 2, American screenwriters went on strike for failing to negotiate with movie studios to improve the terms of their employment contracts. They demand to consider revisions that are becoming more frequent due to the increasing demand for scripts for streaming services.
