21-year-old Dmitry Farshinyov died on April 5, 2022. A square in Kyakhta, where a bust of a soldier was erected on May 9, was given a name in his honor. More than 6.5 million rubles were spent on the arrangement of the square, the monument cost almost two. The Kyakhta administration explained that the head of the department of cultural and leisure activities, an “old” woman, was engaged in the choice of music. “She chose the materials, the music, and simply wrote “ceremonial music for the opening” on the internet. And this music came out without any explanation, without an English translation and so on,” the management said. “Unintentionally, he is a patriot and always leads such events. He was very upset that the video got a response,” the management official added, promising that the music will now be controlled through a “special program” for such events.

The composition played by chance in Kyakhta is called Horn of Plenty, an anthem of Panem, a dystopian state where young people are forced to kill each other in a reality show.
