The first semi-final of the international music competition “Eurovision” took place on 9 May in Liverpool. It is reported by the BBC.

Musicians from 15 countries took the stage at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool. Artists from Israel, Moldova, Norway, Portugal, Serbia, Finland, Croatia, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Sweden made it to the finals. Ireland, Latvia, Malta, Azerbaijan and the Netherlands were eliminated from the competition.

The favorite of the competition, Lorin from Sweden, won the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song Euphoria. The second semi-final of Eurovision will be played on 11 May. In the final, where 26 countries will participate on May 13, the host country England, the winner of the previous competition Ukraine, Germany, Spain, Italy and France will make it to the final.

Russia does not participate in the 2023 competition.
