After Carrie Fisher’s death, her star was inaugurated on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It has been reported CNN.
At the event, her daughter Billie Lourd and Fisher’s Star Wars colleague Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) received a star for the artist. Lourdes wore a sheath dress showing Fisher’s iconic Princess Leia and surrounded by Star Wars droids on the runway.
“Leia is more than a character, she’s an emotion. People’s love for Leah has not died, it continues to be passed down from generation to generation just as my mother passed on to me, and now I pass it on to my children. And I hope they get through this on their own,” Fisher’s daughter said. “Carrie was our princess,” Hamill added, describing her as “a gorgeous, independent woman who was breathtaking.”
Fisher’s star is 2754th on the Walk of Fame. It is located opposite the star in honor of her mother, actress Debbie Reynolds. Reynolds passed away in December 2016, just one day after Fisher died of a heart attack at age 60.
