For the last 40 years, he walked on stage without saying a word and without anyone hearing his voice. So now comes revenge Carlos SansOne of the Tricicle members began to speak. does it Finally alone!A show where he tells about his experiences and anecdotes of forty years. Paco Mir and Joan Gracia, arriving at the Gran Teatro de Elche on Sunday (19:00). “I give myself some sort of professional tip,” she says.

After 40 years of silence, he now takes the stage and does not shut up.

Yes, the truth is, yes. Somehow, with so much silence and so many funny anecdotes that I’ve had over the years, it just felt like a necessity. I put a lot of funny anecdotes in there, and more importantly, that they are true, they are all true. People sometimes don’t believe it. I also add a lot to it at the gestural level where the Tricicle is still very prominent. The story is funny and it’s more the way he interprets it. People are having so much fun.

And he also starts talking about the secrets of the Tricicle…. I don’t know what Paco Mir and Joan Gràcia were thinking when they started telling everything.

These are no secrets, funny anecdotes, but nothing to compromise. They liked it because it’s a very funny drama because a lot of the things I’ve told are unknown. There are also personal anecdotes, and I’m doing a sort of chronological Tricicle journey, telling how we met. And that people are interested in and enjoy.

How was the step of putting aside gestures and doing the exercise of stepping on stage and looking at the audience while speaking?

This has been a bit of a hassle because people place you a lot in an area where you excel and sometimes it’s very difficult for them to change the chip. There are people I meet after the show and they tell me they’re afraid I’m going to speak up and then have just as much fun as when they saw Tricicle. Just using the word now.

Carles Sans, “Finally alone!”

Like Sara Montiel or Esperanza Aguirre, she not only speaks but also imitates sounds.

For creating the characters. As it is known, it is far from monologue. My job is with characters, a very theatrical staging, also with images… I come from the theater and I can’t help it. I try to give each character a voice because I really like to draw the essence of each one. I used to only do it with gestures, and now I have the ability to do it physically with sound and composition, I like it.

memorize texts

With gesture you have a greater capacity for improvisation, but how was it working with a predetermined text that needed to be learned?

Being idle for over an hour was one of those panics I had. Now it’s rolled a lot and doesn’t worry me anymore. But having to memorize the word in the first place was a big change.

Is preparing an animated show very different from preparing a text show?

It was very clear in my head what I wanted to say, but I took the help of José Corbacho, with whom I was very close, because I needed someone to look at it from an outside perspective. We understood each other very well, it gave me great ideas and it was a great success. It was much easier then.

“One of the panics I had was being idle for over an hour. At first, having to memorize the word was a big change”

You went from trio to duo with José Corbacho running the show with you.

Not much because he’s directing me, but then on his own. I’m traveling alone now and I have to get used to it as I miss my co-workers. But when you see that you’re doing something alone and it’s working for you, it gives you a lot of fuss.

Are you more valuable for telling the adventures of Tricicle or for keeping quiet?

(Laughter) I guess because of what I said. Man, there are things to shut up and anecdotes to tell… but no. What I said is very good.

Is Carles Sans funnier when he’s quiet or talking?

This is a good question. I don’t know. I knew I wanted to talk, I started thinking about what texts I could search for, and my wife gave me the key. He told me he used to tell jokes after dinner with his friends and people burst into laughter. So I realized that when I was talking, I also made people laugh. That’s why in this Finally alone! both together.

Actor Carlos Sans.

Tricicle’s humor has always been white for kids and adults alike. Is it harder not to cross the red line when there is text?

Yes, it is undoubtedly more difficult when there is text so as not to cross it. With the text, your tongue warms up and you start saying complicated things with a gesture. The text is more dangerous, but under my control. I know the moment we live in, I know how far society has allowed you to go. Everyone decides whether they want to cross that border or not. My aim is not to revolutionize or change anything. I say what I say. It’s not a show pretending to go through impropriety, not at all. Maybe someone doesn’t like something, but they don’t have such a claim.

You have commented that we live in a complex moment in many ways. How important is humor in these situations?

I always say that if one needs humor, people are willing to pay to be made laugh when they can laugh for a while at home or at work. You need a serious dose of humor and that’s what you pay for. This shows how important humor is in life. In the rough times we’ve been through, we’ve been screwed up for over a century now, humor has always been there to at least mitigate this story.

“I miss my colleagues, but when you see that you do something alone and it works for you, it gives you a lot of fuss.”

Will Tricicle really never return to the stage?

Not for now. Each of them does what they do very well. We are enjoying this. We are aware that it needs to survive as a brand, but I do not see the possibility of a return.

Something must have missed them and not just because they weren’t traveling alone…

Light man. A lifetime is to be together. But there are times when you have to fly on your own. And if your experience is very positive, like my situation, I miss you a lot, but you’re also like a kid with new shoes.

Will you continue on this oral theater path?

We’ll see. I give myself some sort of professional tip. Fortunately, a very enjoyable period has come in my professional life, and I am doing this because I love this job too much to say goodbye to it anymore. Therefore, it is advisable to live day to day at this point. Do I have projects? Yes, I have. And if they do, perfect. But it’s not necessarily about the theater
