Actor Jackie Chan said in an interview with socialbites.ca that he wants to play a superhero.
Chan hopes he will receive an invitation from a director for a similar role. But the star doubts that the audience will be interested in watching him as a superhero, since such projects use graphics and special effects. The actor became famous for doing all the stunts in movies by himself.
“You see, the audience loves to see the real Jackie Chan. Despite the advancement of technology, they’re still interested in watching Jackie do everything herself. They don’t want to watch Jackie play Spider-Man or Superman. Poor me (smiles)! But I hope a director still calls me for a superhero role. To still use a mask: I’ll put it on and rest for 15 or 30 minutes because everything else is a cartoon, special effects. Then I’ll come back, take off the mask and play the dialogue scene. Damn, that’s cool!” – shared the actress.
Chang, 69, noted that he is no longer young for some of the performances and techniques in the cinema, but has replaced them with choreography.
“I know that I am no longer young and not the same as before. Therefore, whatever I do, I try to do it as best as I can. Let’s say I can no longer show things like double kicks, but instead I started using choreography. For example, someone pushes me, I hold on to a chair and I can jump as follows (holding on a chair, jumping, shaking my legs – “socialbites.ca”). And the audience was like, “Wow! Jackie! Something else can happen at this age!” In general, choreography allows you to do things that others of the same age can no longer do,” he said.
