Kevin Costner’s wife, Christine Baumgartner, filed for divorce from the actor. It has been reported TMZ.
It was noted that the artist’s wife referred to “irreconcilable differences” in her divorce application. Baumgartner is also asking the court to grant joint custody of the couple’s three children. Costner later released a statement requesting joint custody.
In addition, the actor’s wife does not seek financial support after the dissolution of marriage, which is mandatory for women by law in the United States. Apparently, the celebrities prepared a prenuptial agreement explaining the terms in this regard before marriage.
What actually caused the divorce has yet to be reported. Costner and Baumgartner have been married for 18 years. For the actor, the marriage became the second – from 1978 to 1994 he was married to Cynthia Silva, with whom he also had three children. Costner also has an illegitimate son from Bridget Rooney, whom he gave birth to in 1996. Koster married Baumgartner in 2004 – the couple lived together for about 19 years.
