Up to a year of corrective work or a fine threatens Alexei Kortnev, the leader of the musical group “Accident”. According to TASS, a criminal case was brought against the rocker for insulting a state official under Article 319 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
“Yes, that’s true. I will meet with my lawyer, I will fly to Novosibirsk. All transactions will take place within the framework of the law. “I think this is absolutely undeserved,” Kortnev told the agency’s reporters.
Last February, the media reported that Alexey Kortnev was detained in Novosibirsk. However, the musician denies that he was detained and insulted anyone during the tour.
“A statement came in the UK because one of the employees wrote to him a report alleging that I had acted inappropriately. But since there was no improper act, there is no evidence, then this case did not receive any continuation, ”said the musician.
According to local media reports, smoke formed in the building where the “Accident” group was supposed to perform. Police teams came to the scene along with firefighters. According to reports, during the verbal discussion, Kortnev allegedly showed one of the Ministry of Internal Affairs officials his middle finger.
In a conversation with NSN on February 17, the musician suggested that the disruption of the concert of his group “Accident” in Novosibirsk may be related to the position of the artist on military operations in Ukraine. Kortnev also acknowledged that the police were kind to him and said hello to them.
Alexey is known for his pacifist beliefs. “There’s still a lot of talk about the war in the country, especially on TV,” he said at the Invasion rock festival in 2019.
He wants a peaceful future for his four sons, so he wrote and released an anti-war song in which he criticizes the “We Can Repeat” slogan that Russian car owners often put on their cars.
In 2022, RIA Novosti reported that after the start of the SVO, the artist opposed the policy of the Russian leadership towards Ukraine. He called the Kremlin’s actions “monstrous” and urged his compatriots not to trust the leadership of the Russian Federation.
After that, a number of “Accident” concerts were canceled. In June 2022, in Nizhny Novgorod, some activists tried to disrupt the band’s concert by preventing spectators from entering the venue.
But Kortnev said that despite the difficulties, the performance took place. The musician emphasized that he would not go to the police on this incident. Let them do what they want, it’s their job, our job is to play,” he said.
