In the story, surgeon Lika Bulatova (Ardova) learns that her son Vasily (Stepanov) has disappeared while on vacation in Greece. Investigators suspect that Vasily joined the Syrian militants. Lika is sure that her son has been kidnapped. He finds his biological father, Vasily Pavel (Serebryakov), and asks for help. Together, parents go abroad to look for their son.
“We had to create a world different from ours, to show the difficult process of contact between two different cultures, to show what the character of a Russian woman is with her incredible strength, ability to sympathize and not give up. “It manifests itself in unusual and difficult circumstances,” said filmmaker Natalia Lazarev.
The director of the film is Nikolai Khomeriki. She has already worked with KION on the fourth season of Pregnancy Test. Khomeriki’s feature films “977” (2006) and “A Tale of Darkness” (2009), who won the second prize in the short film competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2005 with his film “Together”, were also screened here. . The cinematographer’s latest feature film, Once Upon a Time in Anxiety (2021), won the competition at the Kinotavr festival.
