During these years, she starred in the Kazakhfilm studio. Ashrapova made her debut as Galia in the legendary musical comedy Dzhigit Girl (1955). Later, he played in the films “We live here”, “Fishermen of the Aral Sea”, “Back to Earth”, “Joke and Seriously” and other films.

In the 90s, Ashrapova ended her career on Kazakhfilm. During this period, Lydia moved to the Moscow region with her husband, cameraman Askhat Ashrapov, and founded the Alliance film company, where she is the artistic director and producer.
