With this new accumulation, which is the second in two years, the number of works from Prado in the field of Fine Arts reaches 55. New additions, “El mejor amigo” (1899) Antonio Menendez Initiativeand seven paintings: “Santa María Magdalena” (first half of the 17th century), from his workshop guido color; “Florinda” (1894), by Jose Robles; “Fruits” (1911), by Julia Alcayde; “Ribera de Cudillero” (1884-1885), by Thomas Campuzano; and “An ecstasy of San Francisco” (1888), “To work” (circa 1908), and “Gnomes alchemists” (1912), all Luis Menendez Pidal.
Eight works already Included in the permanent Fine Art collection, in a perfect integration that the team led by Alfonso Palacio carries out and places each work in a space where it dialogues with other pieces in the collection, something Berta Piñán underlines: “It seems that these works are back in their place”. On behalf of Prado, Víctor Cageao highlighted the good harmony between the two art galleries and the benefits of the “Extended Prado” program that led to the arrival of these deposits.
