Russian theater and film director Kirill Serebrennikov reacted on the Telegram channel to the removal of the Nureyev ballet from the Bolshoi Theater repertoire.

In the spring of 2022, the ballet A Hero of Our Time disappeared from the Bolshoi Theater repertoire. Soon Nureyev also disappeared from the poster. On April 19, 2023, theatrical director Vladimir Urin announced the definitive exclusion of Nureyev from the theatrical repertoire and announced this is a decision of the LGBT propaganda law, which prohibits “propaganda of non-traditional values”.
