Russian writer and literary critic Alexander Arkhangelsky was not allowed to enter Georgia. In this respect informs Referring to Arkhangelsky’s post on the social network Facebook, RBC (the owner of Meta was considered extremist and banned in Russia).
The author stated that he arrived in Tbilisi on the evening of April 18. Noting that 20 people, including Arkhangelsky, “received their documents” for verification during passport control, he said “politely but without explaining anything”, specifically asking if he was in Abkhazia. After about 40 minutes, 3 people came to me and informed me that it was decided not to be taken to the country and deported on the same plane.
The author noted that the reason for the refusal would be given to him at the Georgian Embassy in Moscow. He does not believe that the Russian side had a hand in his deportation. “Yes, there was a sense of the confusion of the dominant system of abandonment,” he concluded.
On April 19 in Tbilisi, Arkhangelsky was scheduled to participate in the screening and discussion of the film “Hunger” about the events in the USSR in the early 1920s.
