On April 22, the premiere of the movie “The Dollmaker” starring Maria Mironova will take place. This was reported to socialbites.ca at the KION online cinema.
The movie takes place in the 90s. 13-year-old Sonya moves from the city to the village with her mother and younger sister Anya. Sonya doesn’t like such changes, but they are needed to maintain Anya’s health. Sonya is not immediately accepted by the local youth, they call them “city” names and throw her skateboard on the territory of an abandoned house.
Legend has it that the Dollmaker lives in this house, stealing the children. She was also bullied and ridiculed as a child because of her physical differences. The child, who found salvation from loneliness in the puppet theater, now attracts children to his home with his mirror-eyed dolls. Anya falls under the influence of a mystical creature and only Sonya can save her sister.
The project also starred Vitaly Kornienko (“Nika”), Polina Ryashko, Alexander Novikov (“Zhiza”) and Artem Bashenin (“The Last Hero”). The puppeteer was embodied by the Bolshoi Theater ballet dancer Nikita Elikarov. The movie “The Dollmaker” will be available to watch in the KION online cinema.
