Actress/director Olivia Wilde will direct the TV adaptations of Jennifer Egan’s novels A Visit from the Cutthroat Squad and The Candy House. It has been reported deadline.
Wild will also serve as executive producer on the project. The series will be broadcast by A24.
Thug Squad Visit won a Pulitzer Prize in 2011 and is a series of 13 interconnected stories about rock music with multiple characters. All the heroes of the work are connected with the head of the record company Benny Salazar and his assistant Sasha. In 2022, the sequel to the novel Candy House was published, in which some of the characters from the previous book returned.
Olivia Wilde made her feature film director debut in 2019, before that she pursued only one short film and acting career. His first film, Education, won the British Academy Film Award for Best Screenplay and became one of the best reviewed films. Wilde also directed the psychological thriller Don’t Worry, Sunshine, starring Florence Pugh.
