President of France Emmanuel Macron visited Notre Dame Cathedral (Notre Dame) on April 14. It has been reported TASS.

On the fourth anniversary of the fire in the cathedral in 2019, France’s First Lady, accompanied by Brigitte Macron, checked on the progress of the restoration and toured the cathedral. Army General Jean-Louis Georgelin, who oversaw the restoration process, promised Macron to complete the tasks.

Increased security measures were taken in the cathedral – those who opposed the pension reform, learning of the president’s visit, urged like-minded people to gather in the square near Notre Dame.

As a result of a fire on April 15, 2019, two-thirds of the roof of Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral collapsed and completely burned the Gothic tower.
