The club began its work at the Russian House in New Delhi and will be held regularly, according to Oleg Osipov, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in India. “The movie club still bears the codename “Volga to Ganges”. Thanks to him, Indian people and Russian citizens will be able to watch Russian movies of various genres: documentaries, feature films, cartoons,” he said, adding that the club plans to show one movie a month.
The painting “The Sun” by Maxim Brius and Mikhail Wasserbaum describes the events at LPR in 2014. The movie has been translated into English. There are also plans to show the movie “Donbass”. Children”, Tatyana Borsch (2022) and “Nuremberg” (2023), Nikolai Lebedev.
Indian public figures, representatives of the film industry, students learning the Russian language attended the first screening of the cinema club. The initiative was implemented with the help of the non-governmental organization BRICS International Forum and its leader, Purnima Anand.
