The Tretyakov Gallery plans to open a museum of Moscow collectors at the estate of entrepreneur Stepan Ryabushinsky. In this respect informs Moscow agency.

The building, which had never housed a museum before, was handed over to the operating management of the Tretyakov Gallery in 2018. State Tretyakov Gallery Deputy Director General for the Development of New Museum Spaces Tatyana Gafar stated that the restoration project is ready. “It has become important for us to talk about 19th and early 20th century collectors in this house. It’s about Moscow collectors who portray these people as incredible leaders of the culture of their time. He added that the first emergency response work was done.

It is expected that a collectors club will be established in the museum. “There is a historical story on the first floor, and we will appeal to contemporary collectors by exhibiting collections within the collection on the second floor. A collector’s club is planned to be set up on the top floor, in the attic,” said Gafar about the museum concept in Malaya Nikitskaya.
