HBO has ordered the production of a new prequel to the fantasy series “Game of Thrones,” based on the novels by George RR Martin. This was announced during the presentation of streaming service Max, which will combine online cinemas HBO Max and Discovery+.
The new show is called “Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: Dark Knight”. Its action will take place nearly a century before the events of the original Game of Thrones, and the plot will focus on two “unobtrusive” heroes: the “young, naive but brave” knight-traveler Duncan the Tall and his miniature squire Egg (Prince Aegon Targaryen).
The series is based on Martin’s Tale of Dunk and Egg. “The Hedge Knight” is the first story in the series, published in 1998. He then made sequels “Sworn Knight” (2003) and “Mysterious Knight” (2010).
Previously It has been learned that HBO has started filming the second season of “House of the Dragon”, another prequel to “Game of Thrones”.
