Actor Vladimir Mashkov in an interview “TV week of the stars” admitted that the last gift of the late director Oleg Tabakov was the master’s book.
“I remember when Oleg Pavlovich’s book “My Real Life” came out, he gave it to me completely new, packaged, I mixed it up, we talked about something. And literally in those days when he left in March 2018, I opened this book – and completely new, with pages stuck, ”Mashkov recalled.
He stressed that the book was signed by Tabakov himself. The director urged Mashkov to develop “intensively and fully” in his profession, so that “both you and the people feel good.” According to the artist, Tabakov often reminded the actors of the need for development and creative growth. Mashkov also noted that he has a book with testimonies of a former mentor. The artist admitted that he sometimes opened it for advice from the deceased master.
“I have a wonderful book by Evdokia Germanova compiled from statements by Oleg Palych. And sometimes “What would Oleg Palych say?” I open it randomly when I think about it. And recently I opened it and there is this sentence: “If not you, who.” And the second, very important sentence for me: “We are moving towards a goal that is always attainable but never attainable,” summed up the actor.
