He said funding for filmmaking has been increased, but challenges remain with freedom to work in the field. “In general these funds would still be sufficient if the Cinema Fund was given more freelance opportunities because filmmaking is always a long process, a film is shot for about three years and the funds face some difficulties in transferring funds. We have now applied to the Ministry of Finance with a request to provide the Fund with more suitable opportunities for the financing of films for the next year,” he explained.

Tolstoy recalled that the President of the country has already given several instructions to support the production of national films. Tolstoy added that if the Ministry of Finance fulfills the instructions, a new domestic movie will be released every week. “It’s no secret that all producers are trying to be closer to the New Year holidays or some other date, but after the departure of Hollywood content, we need a more even distribution of new movies,” he said.
