The US Department of Justice will review the Warner Bros. merger. and Discovery for suspected employee rights violations, according to Deadline.

Politicians claim that the merger of the company hurt its employees and reduced the amount of diverse content available to subscribers. The deal itself took place in 2022.
“The company has the incentive and ability to lay off a large part of its workforce, leaving workers with fewer opportunities for employment and further promotion,” the lawmakers wrote in their letter.
Warner Bros. Discovery representatives declined to comment. In light of the latest news, the company’s experience with mass layoffs is not unique. Disney laid off 7,000 jobs last month.
