Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The entire cast of The World will return to their roles in the upcoming anime series based on Brian Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim comic book series. According to Variety’s report, streaming service Netflix has officially placed an order to produce the series.
In particular, Michael Cera will voice the anime characters. (Scott Haji), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Ramona Flowers), Kieran Culkin (Wallace Wells), Chris Evans (Lucas Lee), Anna Kendrick (Stacey Hadji), Brie Larson (Jealous of Adams), Aubrey Square (Julie Powers), by Jason Schwartzman (The Gideon Tombs) and Ellen Wong (Nives Chau).
The anime will be written and produced by original comic writers Brian Lee O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski. (“Are you afraid of the dark?”). The duo will also serve as showrunners for the project, which first appeared in development in January 2022. Edgar Wright, the director and screenwriter of the “Scott Pilgrim” adaptation, will co-produce the new film adaptation.
“One of the main reasons for the pride and welcome achievements in my career has been to assemble and work with Scott Pilgrim’s explosive roster. After the movie’s release in 2010, we held Q&A sessions, commemorations, and charity readings, but there was no reason to reassemble the entire team to work on a particular project. So far… Original creator Brian Lee O’Malley, along with screenwriter Ben David Grabinsky, have developed an anime series called Scott Pilgrim, which not only expands the universe, but also… well, just watch it. As Wright reported by Variety, I’m incredibly happy to announce that I’ve convinced the entire original cast to voice their characters in this epic new adventure.
The Scott Pilgrim comic series ran from 2004 to 2010. The protagonist was a young Scott Pilgrim from Toronto, a video game fan and bassist of an indie band who fell in love with the American Ramona Flowers and had to battle seven “evil exes” to win her heart.
Previously The series “You” has been renewed for the fifth season, which will be the finale.
