HE Prado Museum raised number of 70 works in the funds seizuresThat’s eight more than the first report, released last September, according to the results of the study commissioned by Heritage and Civil War expert Professor Arturo Colorado.
To this number can be added 7 medals entered in 1936 from the Retiro Exhibition Center and 89 drawings Deposited by the Ministry of Education and Science in 1971, of unknown origin and currently under investigation in the Documentation and Archives area of the Museum.
The study was able to determine the origin of ten of them. pictures with name and surname or a specific origin: Pedro Rico – twice mayor of Madrid (1931-1934 and 1936) -, the Yebes church in Guadalajara or the Marqués de Villalonga are some of the original owners.

Colorado emphasizes separating the Artifacts from the Art Treasury Seizure and Preservation Board’s consignment of 32 units added to the Prado in 1971, to the Prado Museum and Museum of Modern Art, and from custodial deliveries. National Artistic Heritage Defense Service, 38 total.

Lucas entitled “Seated Lady”, and three medals.
Among the recovered works are also paintings by Sorolla, Carlos de Haes, José Gutiérrez de la Vega, Pedro Atanasio Bocanegra, Rubens’ workshop, José Jiménez Donoso or Jean-Louis-Ernest Meissonier.
