The festival will be held from April 4 to May 11 in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Armenia. According to Svetlana Lavretsova, director of the Youth Theater, Russian theater companies participating in the annual May festival of the Youth Theater will go to these countries.
On April 4, in Karaganda, the Youth Theater troupe will open the festival of William Shakespeare’s “Winter’s Tale” directed by Ulanbeke Bayaliev. Bayaliev will also show the play “Zheleznova Vassa Mother” based on Maksim Gorky from the Sverdlovsk Drama Theater at the festival in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). “This is my hometown, he doesn’t know me as a director yet, so I’m looking forward to meeting fellow countrymen,” said the director.
Demonstrations will also be held in Almaty, Tashkent, Yerevan and Gyumri.
