Singer Ed Sheeran in an interview rolling rock He said he invited rapper Jay-Z to participate in the recording of the track “Shape of You”.

Sheeran claims the musician was “in touch” with his team about a collaboration, but Jay-Z turned down an offer to record a joint track. “I sent him the song and he said, ‘I don’t think the song needs a rap line.’ He was probably right. He hears very very well. Usually he gets everything right. A very respectful rejection,” Sheeran recalls.

Ed Sheeran will release a new studio album “-” this May. The compilation will be released on May 5 via Asylum/Atlantic. Also, the documentary mini-series “The Sum of It All” dedicated to the musician, will come out Coming May 3 on the Disney+ streaming service. The four-part project will chronicle Sheeran’s journey from a stuttering kid to a stadium-building superstar.
