Roskomnadzor (RKN) threatened to block sources to show Eurovision 2023 in Russia if LGBT propaganda was shown in the contest. It has been reported TASS with reference to the press service of the department.
RKN recalled that Russian laws prohibit the promotion of unconventional sexual relations in the media and on the Internet. “For the distribution of such materials, the law provides for the restriction of access to information resources, as well as administrative liability in accordance with Art. Section indicated 6.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
Ukrainian hip-hop group Kalush Orchestra won the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song “Stefania”. The European Broadcasting Union reported that the competition could not be held in Ukraine due to difficulties in ensuring the safety of the participants, therefore the music competition would be held in England.
