“China has a great audience, good concerts await them. Since we have been separated for 3.5 years, we have to perform very brilliantly. People used to hear us here every year, we had festivals here every year: festivals of the Mariinsky Theater, the halls were crowded, ”said Gergiev.
The conductor emphasized that it was extremely important for him to give an excellent performance. According to Gergiev, the musicians will make every effort to please the audience. He added that the concert will include works by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Mikhail Glinka, Sergei Prokofiev, Dmitry Shostakovich, Modest Mussorgsky and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
