“Bullfinch” will be the opening movie of the 45th MIFF

Russian director Boris Khlebnikov’s new film “Bullfinch” was the opening film of the 45th Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF). It has been reported TASS referring to the press service of the festival.

The screening will be on April 20, the screening of the film itself end until April 27.

According to the plot of the film, the script of which Khlebnikov wrote together with Natalia Meshchaninova, the crew of the fishing vessel Snegir is caught in a storm. The script was based on the novel Three Minutes of Silence by Georgy Vladimov.

The film starred Alexander Robak, Timofey Tribuntsev and Makar Khlebnikov. The premiere of the movie “Bullfinch” will be held on June 8.

The Moscow International Film Festival has been held in Moscow since 1935. Since 1999, Nikita Mikhalkov has been the head of the Moscow International Film Festival, and since then the festival has been held annually. Since 2022, Ivan Kudryavtsev is the chairman of the selection committee.

More than 240 films from 50 countries of the world were screened at the festival last year.
