Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, Honored Artist of the RSFSR Nikolai Dupak died at the age of 102. This was reported by Telegram channel zvezdnews.

Dupak was born in Starobeshevo, Donetsk region of Ukraine in 1921. In 1937, Dupak entered the theater school in Rostov-on-Don.

In the spring of 1941, the artist successfully passed the screen tests and became the only one from the whole school who was invited to the main role in the new feature film Taras Bulba, but after World War II. The picture was not taken due to the outbreak of World War II. . The actor went from student to commander of the reconnaissance platoon, was wounded three times and was once shocked by a bullet.

From 1943 to 1963 he served as the lead actor and director of the theater named after KS Stanislavsky. From 1963 to 1990 he was the director of the Taganka Theater with a short break.

Then he worked as the director of the Taganka Cultural Center, the consultant to the general director of the Animal Theater “Durov’s Corner” and the director-advisor of the “Museon”.
