British rock band Duran Duran is preparing to release their 16th studio album. It’s about guitarist Andy Taylor, who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer a few years ago. Bassist John Taylor said in an interview with The Mirror that the record should be released before the end of 2023.
“We are now working on an album that should come out at the end of the year and [Энди Тейлор] plays the guitar. There are many covers on the album, songs that were important to us as children. That’s why it’s great to be involved in this project,” said the bassist.
According to him, Duran Duran lead singer Simon Le Bon will go to Ibiza to record at Andy Taylor’s studio there. The rest of the album will be recorded in Los Angeles and London.
The information was confirmed by the rest of the group on Duran Duran’s social media.
According to Consequence, the band’s last album featuring Andy Taylor was Astronaut, released in 2004. The band’s last album, Future Past, was released in 2021.
Previously Radiohead’s drummer promised that the band would release new material in the coming years.
