Lucky Hank, a comedy-drama starring Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk, debuted on AMC and streaming service AMC+. The first episode of the show is available to watch right now.
The series follows the head of the English department at a small American college and how the protagonist goes through a midlife crisis while creating complete chaos in his personal and professional life. Lucky Hank is based on Richard Russo’s 1997 novel The Straight Man.
He directed the pilot with one of the co-creators of the comedies Dumb and Dumber, There’s Something About Mary and Me, Myself and Irene, which he co-directed with Green Book director Peter Farrelly and his brother Bobby Farrelly. Mireille Enos joins the cast of Lucky Hank (“Murder”), Oscar Nuñez (“Office”), Tom Bauer (“Ray Donovan”), Kyle MacLachlan (“Twin Peaks”) and Chris Diamantopoulos (“Silicon valley”).
The first season of the series will consist of eight episodes and will run until May 7.
At professional review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, Lucky Hank has 94 percent critical approval based on 32 reviews. The audience rating was 77% “freshness”.
