The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York began renaming its exhibits from “Russian” to “Ukrainian”. New York Times.

The museum changed the name of one of the paintings, especially by the French painter Edgar Degas, from “Russian Dancers” to “Dancers in Ukrainian Dress”.

“Scientific thinking has been developing rapidly due to the increased focus on Ukrainian culture and history since the start of the Russian occupation in 2022,” said museum director Max Hollein.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art also revised its classification of three 19th-century artists – Ilya Repin, Arkhip Kuindzhi and Ivan Aivazovsky – to draw attention to their Ukrainian roots.

It was reported earlier in the Ukrainian city of Kharkov. has been renamed 18 streets whose names are associated with Russia. The relevant decision is published on the website of the city council.

On February 22, it was learned that the authorities of the city of Lozovaya, Kharkiv region, in accordance with the policy of “Derussification”, renamed 122 streets in 18 administratively affiliated settlements.
