According to IndieWire, American singer Demi Lovato will make her directorial debut with a documentary about child stars.
The singer began filming an interim documentary project called Baby Star, which she plans to shoot with producer Nicola Marsh, best known for her work on the Netflix documentary series Song Exploder.
This project will be Lovato’s directorial debut. According to official press releases, the film will focus on the ups and downs of child artists and show how fame has impacted their future. Lovato will also share her personal experiences as a teen star on the Disney Channel that launched her career.
The singer has previously released two documentaries about her own life and work, but in both projects she acted only as the main character and producer.
“Baby Star” will air exclusively on the streaming service Hulu in 2024.
