Descendants star Brian Cox criticized co-star Daniel Day-Lewis for his “obsession with method acting”, Variety reported.
The Scottish actor said in a new interview that he was pleased with the outcome of “The Heirs”, the upcoming fourth season of which will be the finale.
“I will really miss the project and my colleagues, but I think the story of the series ends in a logical way. And I don’t have any regrets about it,” Cox said.
During the interview, the actress was asked about her professional method of working on set. In response to a question, Cox recalled her work with three-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis, with whom she co-starred in the 1997 drama The Boxer.
The Descendants star criticized her colleague’s acting style and said she didn’t share Day-Lewis’ “obsession with acting method”. He also claimed that the actor, who ended his career early, was tired because he tortured himself while preparing for the roles.
“Just do your job, no need for all this “I think therefore I feel” crap. He retired at 55, but from personal experience I must say that the most interesting roles begin at this age, ”Cox concluded.
