British actress Keira Knightley has announced that she does not intend to return to the Pirates of the Caribbean adventure series, where she played one of the main roles. She talked about this in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
When Knightley was asked if he was ready to appear in the possible next Pirates movie, he laughed and said, “Okay.” [моей героини] Elizabeth Swann? I mean, it sailed very nicely. He sailed brilliantly.”
The actor admitted that he does not remember the shooting of the first movie of the series, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2023.
“[Этот фильм] In terms of my career, it hit me with some kind of rocket. INSIDE [2003] The year was Bend It Like Beckham, Love Really and Pirates of the Caribbean. That’s why I’m asked all three. Unfortunately I was 16 or 17 years old. So I don’t remember much about them, but yes, it was definitely an important year for me,” said Knightley.
The legend’s fifth and final film to date, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, was released in 2017. Knightley and Orlando Bloom, who had not appeared in the previous fourth film, On Stranger Tides, briefly appeared in the Dead Men finale.
In December 2022, franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer announced in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that two Pirates spin-offs are currently in the works: one with a “female” cast starring Margot Robbie and the other with a “younger” cast. The producer also noted that he hopes Johnny Depp will return to the role of pirate Jack Sparrow.
Previously Orlando Bloom reportedly wants to reprise his role in Pirates of the Caribbean.
