An updated version of the artist rules states that artists are prohibited from wearing clothing that makes them look like women, and that they are not allowed to wear only underwear on stage. Foreign female artists were prohibited from wearing clothing that significantly exposed their breasts or hips.

Foreign film crews will now have to screen the script for approval by a specially formed commission before they start working in Malaysia to avoid damaging the country’s image.

It is also prohibited on the eve of concerts and live performances of foreign artists and on the days of Islamic holidays, exceptions are possible for events approved by Islamic authorities. Performances and concerts are prohibited during the month of Ramadan.
