Cheburashka, starring Sergei Garmash, was released on January 1 and became the highest-grossing film in Russian distribution history.
The picture for children skipped the first part of Klim Shipenko’s comedy “The Serf” (2019) and James Cameron’s diology “Avatar” (2009). The film tells about the adventures of Cheburashka in a small seaside town, where he comes from a far country with orange groves. The film also starred Elena Yakovleva, Polina Maksimova, Fedor Dobronravov, Sergey Lavygin and others. Cheburashka was voiced by actress Olga Kuzmina.
It was previously directed by Pavel Lungin. announcedthat he really did not want to watch “Cheburashka” because of Garmash, who played the gardener Gennady Petrovich. The director called the artist his favorite, so he has no particular desire to watch “someone else’s Garmash”.
