Streaming service Amazon Prime Video has ordered production of two seasons of the “Batman: Caped Crusader” animated series originally developed for HBO Max. The Hollywood Reporter writes about this and states that neither party to the deal has commented, as all the formalities have not yet been fulfilled.
Batman: Caped Crusader was announced in 2021. Batman (1992) is in development by Bruce Trimm and Robert Pattinson, creators of The New Batman Adventures and Batman Beyond, and The Batman directors JJ Abrams and Matt Reeves. The new series will reportedly return the superhero to his scientific roots and focus on the crime-fighting years before Batman formed an alliance with Commissioner Gordon and the Gotham City Police.
In August 2022, the combined Warner Bros. The show came under the knife as part of new management efforts at his company. Discovery has reduced content production costs. Then it was announced that “Cloaked Crusader” would be sold to another platform. Especially Apple TV +, Hulu and Netflix showed interest in the project.
The first season of the new animated series will consist of ten episodes. Release date is not yet known.
Previously George Clooney, who portrayed the Cloaked Crusader in the 1997 film Batman & Robin, may reportedly appear as Batman in The Flash.
